August 4 – 17, 2006
One of my best childhood friends, Tom Palmer, joined me from his home in Connecticut for a wild ride in Southern Utah. Tom had never spent any “quality” time in Utah and is not the outdoors type. Nonetheless, he had a good time and I think he returned home with an appreciation of the Colorado Plateau. See our awesome pictures.
Our wild ride started on August 4 when Tom arrived in California. We drove to Torrey, Utah the following day to stay with my Dad. On Aug. 6, we took in some of the Torrey Music Festival, toured Fruita and my grandparents old “Floral Ranch” in Capitol Reef National Park, and took time out from our ride to help a nice lady in Torrey move a piano.
